Description

Wiggly Wizards is a fast-paced action roguelike bullet-hell where you play as a gelatinous cube who stumbled upon a wizard’s hat—and with it, sentience. Armed with nothing but your wits (and a Fire Bolt that never stops firing), you’ll need to survive 20 waves of swarming enemies in chaotic, 20-minute runs.

Face off against hordes of fantasy creatures like Stirges, giant toads, and two-headed snakes while dodging projectiles and weaving through overwhelming numbers. Every wave grows deadlier, and survival means constantly adapting to what the dungeon throws at you.

Your wizard grows stronger by collecting randomized loot each run. Inspired by tabletop RPGs, items grant bonuses tied to classic stats—Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma—letting you experiment with builds that can boost crits, armor, spell range, or sheer survivability. With 19 unique items and randomized drops, no two runs play out the same way.

Can you outlast the dungeon’s 20 waves and prove that even a jelly boy can become a wizard?

Game Jam Theme

For this jam, we chose to interpret the theme in a broader, more personal way. The wizard’s hat that grants our gelatinous cube sentience is named Morgan, tying directly into the jam prompt. From there, we looked at the theme elements—time dilation, project hopping, and nonlinear thought—as reflections of the struggles (and creativity) that often come with ADHD.

To capture that spirit, we added a set of ability perks inspired by these ideas:

• Deadline Denial – When it feels like there’s never enough time, extend the clock itself. This perk spaces out enemy spawns and gives you more room to breathe (and collect coins).

• Fantastical Flow – Tap into the flow state. Gain extra damage as long as you don’t take a hit. Lose concentration when struck, but regain it by avoiding damage for a few seconds.

• Multitask Master – Juggle more tasks at once. Unlock an additional spell slot, letting your wizard fling even more magic across the screen.

These perks may not appear in every run due to the roguelike randomness, but they highlight how we wove the jam’s theme into the design of Wiggly Wizards.
